Registration at Rahn Schulen Kairo for the school year 2023/2024

Dear Parents,

thank you for choosing our school. We would like to introduce you to the admission process in more detail.

The admission process involves the following steps:

Online registration
Trial days and admission test
Parent interview with school management
Decision and notification of acceptance or rejection

1. Online registration

You can register your child online through: https://egypt.rahn.education/en/registration/online-application/
After your successful registration you will receive an automatic confirmation. After reviewing your registration, our school office will contact you for a copy of your most recent certificate (mid-year or end-of-year certificate) which will be required for further processing of the application.

2. Trial days and admission test

After reviewing the certificate, your child will be invited by our school office to 3 trial days. During the trial days, your child will go through a regular school day from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. During this time, we pay attention to social and work skills as well as academic status.

Depending on your child’s grade level, exams may also need to be taken in certain subjects. In elementary school (grades 1 to 6), tests are taken in German and Math. In secondary school (grades 7 to 10), tests are taken in German, Math and English. In GIB (grades 11 and 12) the “IB admission policy” applies. Newly admitted Egyptian students from abroad must also be tested in the applicable national subjects. The school office will inform the parents by mail about the date of the admission test for the child and the corresponding procedure. Fees are charged for both the trial days and the admission tests.

These are as follows: 1,000 EGP for the admission tests and 1,500 EGP for 3 trial days.

These fees are non-refundable regardless of the test result.

3. Parent interview with the school principal

If you are accepted, you will receive information from the school office with an invitation to a meeting with the school principal.

4. Decision and notification of acceptance or rejection

After the admission interview, the school management will make the final decision about the admission of your child to Rahn Schulen Kairo. You will be informed about this by the school office. Furthermore, in this message you will receive information about the currently valid fee schedule and explanations about the next steps. You will also be informed by mail about further documents to be submitted.

Please note: No information will be given on current applications or on the decision of an admission or rejection.

Dates for registration for the school year 2023/2024

Admission tests: 20.03.2023-22.03.2023 / 04.06.2023 – 06.06.2023

Dates for second semester registrations or later registrations from July 2023 onwards can be arranged by appointment.

Guided tours of the school building

For interested parents, there is a guided tour of the school building every first Thursday of the month at 14:30. Please register for this at: office.egypt@rahn.education
